Why Sod? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Sodding is the fastest, easiest, and
best way to establish a lawn because the grass plants have reached maturity and are tough.
We monitor our turfgrass crops daily and spend about a year growing each crop
before we harvest. With proper care during the first few weeks after installing, your
newly sodded lawn will be ready for hard use in 3 weeks. Because sod is easy to work with,
an average size yard can be installed in a few hours at a modest cost. Although seeding
initially costs less, many costs recur due to erosion, reseeding, over-seeding, and |

watering. Newly seeded lawns take a great deal of time and nurturing to
establish into mature, healthy lawns and cannot be used for months. Why spend a great deal
of time and the same amount of money when you can have an instant lawn? |

Benefits of Sod |

|
 |
 |
|
Erosion
Because sod is fully mature the day it is installed, it immediately controls erosion
with a carpet of root mass and grass plants. Sod can be installed on steep hills & is
used on slopes for stabilization.
Reduces Heat
On a hot summer day, a lawn will be 30 degrees cooler than asphalt & 15
degrees cooler than bare soil.
The front lawns of 8 homes have the cooling effect in hot weather of about 70 tons of air
conditioning.
Filtration
Turfgrass lawns filter dirt & dust from your environment & eliminate mud. A
lawn absorbs carbon dioxide & releases oxygen keeping the air clean & fresh around
your home. A lawn also filters & muffles noise.
Improves Value to your Home
One of the most inexpensive ways to add value to your home. A nicely landscaped yard
will add 10-15% to the value of your home. |
